I do a lot of cassette-to-MP3 conversion. I do it the old fashioned way: cassette deck-to-mixer-to-PC-to-audio application. It works well for me and allows some flexibility. But, I’ve gotta admit, this little device is kinda slick:
If you can’t tell from the obvious photo, you drop a cassette in (“normal or chrome” – what, no metal Type IVs?), send it to your iPod and let an audio app do its work. Pretty neat. Imagine carrying one of these on the subway. “Oh me? I’m just listening to my favorite audio cassette from the 1980s while ripping it to my iPod. What? You’ve never seen that before?”
