It’s been a pretty dry summer ’round these parts, and one of the small benefits of that – besides having a yellow lawn – is that I haven’t had to mow & edge the lawn very much this year.
By my estimation, it’s been done about 5 or 6 times since May. Last year and the year before, it was happening on a biweekly basis from late April through September. Man.
This works in well with my plan to replace my lawn with rocks.

We’ve had a bit of rain, so I’ve been mowing every week or two. But good ol’ Memomail reminded me that a couple of years ago I went two months – from mid-June to mid-August – without mowing because of the drought. Crazy.
