The Daily Ping

The original Ping was painfully written in Perl.

Caine’s Arcade

I’m writing this Ping on Wednesday, not Tuesday – it’s late. But I’ve decided to embrace this and make this Ping about the notable viral video of April 10, 2012: Caine’s Arcade.

Caine is a 9-year-old boy who created an arcade made out of cardboard boxes and various other small pieces. The arcade lives in his dad’s auto parts shop in east LA, and Nirvan Mullick – a filmmaker – happened to stop in one day to get a part for his car. He discovered the arcade, bought the Fun Pass (500 plays for $2!) and later made a film about it. While you might have been spoiled, I won’t go into further details here suffice it to say that this put a big, big smile on my face.

And also, kids’ camp chairs are the best.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
