When I was younger, Rolo was one of my favorite candies. The combination of caramel, chocolate, and the golden wrapper added up to a trio I couldn’t pass up.

So when the opportunity presented itself, I had a Rolo recently. The nostalgia washed over me as I peeled off the wrapper and I took that first bite. But something was wrong. The flavors seemed off somehow. The caramel tasted… like nothing. The chocolate seemed waxy and not great.

I walked away disappointed. Was Rolo ever good? Have my tastes changed that much? I mean, I enjoy asparagus now; did that blow out my like of Rolos?
If I try a Caramello and am similarly disappointed, then I know something’s up.
