I have a new theory on Google.

In order to better capture marketing information on its users, Google is now recasting all of its products – all of them – as paths into Google+. Doesn’t matter if it’s search, maps, Reader (which is now crappier), or Android. If I think of Google as a mediocre social network that just happens to have these other things, I feel a little better about my decision to mostly not use them whenever I can.
