Weather forecasts are predicting some light accumulation of snow this weekend, a few days before Halloween. For the east coast, this is pretty unheard of. For my area, the earliest recorded snowfall came even earlier, however:
The earliest measurable snowfall in both Baltimore and Washington, DC was 0.3 inches on October 10, 1979, during the World Series. Trace amounts in Baltimore also fell on October 9, 1895, and 1903, and in Washington on Oct. 5, 1892.
I have to say, it would be odd to see snow falling while the trees are still in full, bright red autumn mode.

Glad to hear that no one forgot that my wish for snow was granted when I was 2. Too bad it was on the east coast, though,

…and also too bad that I love commas so much.
