I’m now in the market for a second car. It’s been a really long time since my wife and I had more than one – and we’ve made it through the outer reaches of suburbia with just one! – but now that I’ll need one for a daily commute, it’s time.
And I’m reminded that car buying is still a huge pain in the rear. So here’s an idea I came up with – free for the asking: I pay someone a small, fair amount of money to do the shopping for me.
I’d need to tell them my needs, wants, budget, desire, etc., but this person would do all of the shopping. They’d go check out the cars, get the Carfax or Autocheck, take it to a mechanic, etc. Obviously this is time-intensive and not cheap but, honestly, it’d be a big help.
This also might exist, which would be even better! Until then I’ll be slogging through myriad car listings.
