When I was a kid, I always wanted a treehouse.
To me there was something magical and fun about having this separate space up in a tree. I’m sure it helped that treehouses were depicted as just those types of places on the TV shows and cartoons I watched as a kid, but no matter.
While our house had a couple of big trees in its side yard, neither of them were able to support building one. So I ultimately went treehouse-less and instead built a ladder leading up to the top level of my computer desk and hutch. Worked beautifully!
Was a treehouse a part of growing up for you?

One of my friend’s dads brought home two huge shipping crates, which we bolted together and put doors on to make a fort. It did sit on the ground though.
