There’s an argument that goes on in our house anytime someone opens up a cream cheese or sour cream container. It goes like this:
Person 1: “Why did you leave the little plastic thing inside, half-peeled back on this container of cream cheese?”
Person 2: “Because it helps keep it good longer.”
Person 1: “You are out of your mind. You just do it to drive me nuts.”
Person 2: “That could be, too.”
So, without telling you who is which person: are you the type that leaves the plastic on or do you tear it off and throw it away?

Oh, that plastic is off immediately. It does nothing. It’s already open. The smoke monster has left the island. Pandora opened the box. Etc., etc., etc.
