Every so often, if I want to get a bottled beverage cold quickly, I’ll put it in the freezer for 10 minutes and then enjoy it. It’s not as good as a slow chill in the fridge, but sometimes, I can’t be bothered with waiting.
The problem is when I forget that I’ve put that bottle in the fridge. Like, the last two times I’ve put bottles in the fridge. The most recent time, it was a plastic bottle, so while the bottle got a little deformed, I just had to wait for the ice to melt. But the time it was a glass bottle. Said bottle had shattered at the bottom, held together only by the frozen gluey consistency the drink inside had turned into.
By the way, I can’t be bothered to set a kitchen timer to remind me there’s a drink in the freezer. Instead, I’d much rather than bottled beverage maker fix this problem with technology.

The drink should tweet you when it’s ready.
Or, you could set an alarm on your fancy pants phone. Just saying’.
