The Daily Ping

No, no – go to OUR site!

I know that there are both good and bad local news sites. But assuming anyone uses them anymore, I’d like to know why for a particular instance.

Let’s say you’re watching the local news (humor me here!) and they mention something web-related; perhaps a story about how Groupon hates freedom. They tell you not to go to the website in question, but to go to their website instead. I know why they’re doing this; they want you to see the ads on their site first. But tell me, does anyone actually do this? For real.

The next time I do that will be the first time. Even if I do see something interesting, I’ll just Google for more info.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
