Can you do me a favor and concentrate on making the cupcake taste good? The actual cupcake. Not the topping. Not the filling. The cupcake.
I’ve had more than one lousy cupcake which was touted as “gourmet” or “fancy pants” or “delicious” when the cupcake itself has been a dry, flavorless mess. What’s up with that?
Ideally, if I’m paying that much for just one cupcake, the cupcake had better be the most amazing thing I’ve ever eaten. Or at least, really darn good. I should be able to thoroughly enjoy the cupcake without any frosting. In short, if you require frosting to make a cupcake good, you’ve failed.
