The wavy thing on the Coke logo

Y’all know the Coke logo. But did you know what the little wavy lines that are part of the “C”s and underneath some versions of the logo are called?

They’re referred to, collectively, as the Dynamic Ribbon Device. If that doesn’t sound like something a salesperson came up with and forced upon the marketing department, I don’t know what is. I’m sure many of you are thinking, “That would be a great band name.” It already is.

(In case you’re curious how I came upon this little nugget of information, I watched The Coca-Cola Kid this weekend. That is one weird little movie. I’m still not quite sure how it got made. But that’s a whole ‘nother Ping.)

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
