I have to admit that this kind of bummed me out: a study claims 59% of Americans will be checking their work email over the long holiday weekend. Now, if you’re in a business which is doing a lot of stuff on Black Friday that makes sense to me. But otherwise, for Pete’s sake, just turn the damn BlackBerry off.
It’s frustrating that we’re collectively walking away from what few holidays we get in this country, and willing to turn them over to work. Come on, folks, that’s no way to be! If we’re working all the time, then we lose the value of our time off – and our work product can potentially suffer, too. All work and no play, you know.
