Y’all know my lifelong obsession with Card Sharks and Jim Perry, right? Well, CHECK THIS OUT:
Honestly, one of the coolest moments of my life. Thanks to Jim and June for making it possible!
I will share one fun story from our visit. Jim told me that his card flipping technique (which I mentioned here in a May 28, 2001 5pm comment that I can’t permalink to) earned the ire of Standards and Practices. Apparently the trademark snapping of the wrist would sometimes bend a card, which meant that in the eyes of S&P it became “marked” and thus, a new deck needed to be introduced. I can just picture “the suits” getting all uptight about having to buy more cards. Love it!

jk — It all started here. You may remember that June came online and acted as the go-between, answering our questions for Jim about his game show career.
I kept in touch with her over the years and when we were on vacation in the area, I dropped her a line to see if we might be able to get together. And it was everything I hoped it would be. 🙂 Jim and June are two of the nicest people you can imagine.
Oh, and Jim drew a picture for my daughter that we’re totally getting framed and hanging in her room.

I’m sorry to give you some bad news Jim Perry has passed away at 82 after a long battle of cancer.

Sadly, it’s true that Jim has passed.
I wrote a little something up over here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153675150771271&set=a.440234671270.229151.500301270&type=3
