A New York Times article from a while back was making the rounds this week about hikikomori – a Japanese phenomenon where young adults and late teenagers spend years living in their rooms in their parents’ houses. They don’t go to school. They interact with nearly no one. And it’s mostly affecting men.
In all, it’s a fascinating read. If you’re looking for something a little more meaty to get into this weekend before the Sunday paper arrives, have a look.
