By traveling to and from work on the train, I am exposed to a lot of advertisements. And more and more of them lately have featured comma splices… so many, in fact, that I wonder if it’s the next opps.
Now, not every comma splice is evil and wrong but there have been several I’ve noticed; most recently, it was in a very large ad for Corner Bakery: “Be picky about your panini, we are.” Ooof. I’ve also seen it on water bottles, just like this chap did.
Watch for them, they’re out there.
