We were lucky enough to avoid a power outage during this weekend’s storm (even though others in our own town were without for more than few hours), but we were prepared. We’d put some extra water in the fridge, got buckets of water for the bathroom (being careful not to confuse the two), made up a big batch of chili, and recharged all our batteries (AA, cell phone, flashlight). I think the power was too scared to go off in our house because we were so well prepared (plus, we have a gas fireplace, so it really wouldn’t have been that huge of a deal).
What’s the longest you’ve ever been without power? I don’t think I’ve had to make do for more than 6 or 12 hours.
