Because of my history, it’s rare anymore that I’ll purchase something that requires a rebate be filled out and mailed in. And this past month, I proved again why I can’t be trusted with a rebate: I didn’t send it in within the 30-day window.
So, I want to do a 2009 survey of Pingers: do you still buy stuff with rebates? How often do you, like me, play right into the hands of the merchants and buy something and not fulfill rebate requirements (by, say, forgetting to send the paperwork in)?

I’m pretty good with sending rebates in. I thank my mother, who did a lot of coupon clipping and rebate sending back in the day.
That said, I’m slacking – I rarely take the time to even look for a rebate for smaller ( < $100 ) purchases.

I generally don’t go for rebates. No can do.
But I did get suckered in by Bing Cashback this year. It’s actually decent! I scored a nice 22% rebate on a Timbuk2 bag from eBags and a 4% one from an eBay purchase. To me that was worth waiting the 90 days for it. 90 days. Ooof.
