If I’d asked that question when the Ping first launched, chances are answers would have been “none,” “Hotmail,” or “Yahoo.” These days, though, it seems like everyone has a Gmail address, including people who long relied on their domain’s web host to provide service. Including me.
I realized that I don’t necessarily want everyone in the world knowing right away where to find my personal web site (especially since it’s embarrassingly neglected right now), and for those people, I’d much rather share a generic Gmail account name. But, even the mail that goes to my personal domain ends up getting funneled through Gmail to make use of their very effective spam filters. Gmail was definitely game changer for me.
How about youse?

Everything ends up at Gmail, except for a yahoo account I’ve had since the 90s that I still use for one off online registrations.
