Is it just me, or is the cheap coffee at 7-11 and other mini-marts getting significantly better? It’s gotten to the point, where I’ll gladly buy from 7-11 rather than Starbucks not just because it’s about 1/4 of the price, but because the coffee is pretty much on par. Sure, I can’t get a vanilla soy latte, but if I’m on the road, a $1.29 coffee not only keeps me awake, but I sort of enjoy it, too.

It’s getting better, yeah. I think one thing that Starbucks has indeed done for the better is raised the bar for coffee overall… although it’s not all gourmet, of course.
