The Light Pen

In a simpler computing time, there weren’t a lot of input methods. Keyboard. Joystick. Mouse, if you were really lucky. And then there was the light pen.

The light pen is basically a big ol’ stylus used to “write” on a computer’s screen (ie, a TV.) I really only saw this as being useful for graphics software like Doodle! but, let’s be honest, who is going to awkwardly hold a pen up to a screen to draw? That’s right – no one. Which is why light pens never did too well.
