The Daily Ping

The Story About Ping was about a duck, not this website.

Movies BYO

There are a number of big movie theaters within a modest drive of our house. But there’s one that we really enjoy going to, a giant AMC 30 screen. Not just because they pretty much have any mainstream movie we’d be interested in but because, more importantly, they allow folks to bring in their own food and drink.

Really!

I have no idea if this is common, but I’ve certainly never heard of it elsewhere. It makes all kinds of sense to stop off at any convenience store, get snacks and a beverage, and avoid a second mortgage on our home. 89 cent drinks versus $5 ones? No contest.

Do any of you have this delightful freedom as well?

I’ve never let the theater rules get in the way of enjoying reasonably priced snacks at the theater.

So that explains why I saw people carrying in bags of food from Wendy’s when I last went there. I figured they were trying, and failing, to be sneaky.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
