If you were to say to me, “Chuck E. Cheese is the most evil place on the planet,” I probably wouldn’t open my mouth to disagree. However, the oddest thing happened this weekend: my wife and I took our daughter there for her friend’s birthday party, and we all had a good time. Crazy, I know!
I mean, there’s no doubt that the place was like an insane asylum where the patients were hopped up on caffeine and allowed to run free. I stepped on kids, got bumped into without apology, and worried my daughter was going to get trampled in the riot-like atmosphere, but even considering all that, I had an OK time. Perhaps because my daughter had a good time (aside from one throw-down tantrum which was barely audible above the games and the hundred other screaming kids), or maybe because I was able to retreat to a separate restaurant area when I needed a breather, the experience was bearable.
One thing I can’t understand, though: adults without children that go there just to eat dinner. Really? Do you like your food served with a side of insanity? Or do you just love their food that much?

The phrase child molester comes to mind pretty quickly when considering childless adults that voluntarily hang out at Check E Cheese.

Ew! Or maybe they are hearing impaired and unaware of the insanity surrounding them.

To tell the truth, I went to Chuck E Cheese a few times during college breaks for lunch. The pizza is quite good for the type of place it is.
