The very first thing that my family ever ordered from TV shopping – QVC, to be exact – was a Casio keyboard. For me. With my lack of musical talent.
So why did I like it so, and what convinced my parents to place the order? It had a sampler. I could record up to 10 seconds of sound (10 whole seconds!) and then play it as many times as I wanted just by hitting a key on the keyboard. I tell you, I had a load of fun with this.
But did I understand music? Nope. Did I learn to play piano? Nada. Did I stop using it after a few months? Of course.
I have no idea what my second purchase from the TV was, though.

I hadn’t ever purchased anything off of tv in 30 years, then last summer I saw an ad for Time Life video’s Vietnam series. The ad was so good that I had to have the definitive Nam set. Needless to say, I have been quite satisfied with the product.

I bought a Casserole Dish from QVC. It was a Mother’s Day present for my mom. Kinda like buying a vaccum cleaner for your wife, I suppose. The intentions were good, though, I swear.
