Google Sucks At…

In a recent, lively discussion with a few nerdy coworkers of mine (well… some not nerdy) we got to talking about the Google. We’re all Google fans, but we were wondering if Google will simply dominate the internet for years and years, or if some upstart will take them down (and how that could happen.)

That said, I started wondering if there was anything out there that Google just plain sucked at from a product perspective. Just missed the mark, did something lousy, etc. I must admit that I was unable to come up with anything off the top of my head, but I’m sure you can. Right?

Social networking.

Orkut? More like Nor-kut! Or Bore-kut! Or Snore-kut!

Google Talk. It’s cool that they eventually integrated chatting into Gmail, but the stand alone still sucks.

So far Checkout hasn’t done much either.

Other than that I think they are pretty good. Decent at some things, good at others and then they knock it out of the park with things like Google Reader, Gmail and Chrome.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
