I’ve written before about great names, but I got a submission over at one of my other web sites that referred to one of the coolest names I’ve ever seen:
Spontaneous Search Party.
Though it sounds like a band name, it’s actually a guy’s name. This blogger was actually there when SSP filled out the change of name form. Spont (a good nickname) got his name from a Julian Cope song. A commenter notes that “[The l]ast time i saw Spont was in Melbourne about 5 years ago. He was teaching tai chi to homeless men in Fitzroy.”
I’d like to meet Spontaneous Search Party. Sounds like an interesting dude.

Thank you for possibly spurring people to find out who Julian Cope is! “World Shut Your Mouth” was a fave song of mine, oh no, I refuse to admit how many years ago.
