This year, Illinois made it possible to vote early without requesting an absentee ballot, being out of state, or anything fancy-schmancy. Therefore I took about 15 minutes out of my morning and voted at my polling place.
Can I just say how smart and great this is?
While I’m still on board for making Election Day a national holiday, this is the next best thing. Instead of just one day to vote, people have multiple weeks. The only downside is for undecided folks… or if something catastrophic happens to one’s selected candidate in the meantime.
But me, I’m happy voting fits into my schedule. I pressed those buttons on the Diebold machine with the utmost confiden… er… hm.
I voted!

How many other states do this?
