If you want to see some of the side effects of Google’s popularity, PageRank, and all that stuff try searching for an online store name and the word “opinion”. Ugh.
This past week I was interested in trying out a shoe store online that wasn’t Zappos, ShoeBuy, or Endless due to price and brand selection. Their site looked reliable and fine and good but I wanted a second or third opinion. So I thought, hey, I’ll look on Google!
And what a nightmare.
The first 100 results were all SEO-friendly pages for this place. That’s about it. Trying to find out what’s going on with this store was just too difficult to do with Google.
But in a case like that, where else do you go?
