Now that Bennigan’s has pretty much gone under I can feel free to talk about it behind its back.
On two separate occasions at two separate Bennigan’s I was very, very sick after eating at Bennigan’s. So much so that it became a “thing” for me. You know?
Wife: How about Bennigan’s?
Me: You know that makes me sick.
Wife: That was a long time ago!
Me: No way.
(The above conversation is probably made up.)
I’m not pleased to see hundreds of people out of work, oh no. But I am pleased to think that the place that made me sick is no longer even an option for anyone else. Viva la economy!

I am sad that I will never have another Bennigan’s Monte Cristo. It was a fond memory for me.

The Bennigans that are closing/have closed are corporate owned. The franchise unit will remain open at owner discretion.

Bennigan’s doesn’t DESERVE the Monte Cristo. It was the only saving grace for the place.
That said, how TGI Friday’s is still in business amazes me. I’ve never had worse food in my life. EVAR.

I had a friend in high school (in Salt Lake) named Dave Walls. He moved away. He was a fun guy. Is this Dave Walls disgussing Benigan’s possibly the same Dave?

People in the US thrive on restaurant mediocrity. Fridays, Apple-Beyotches, etc., are the basic same uninspired, mediocre menu from coast to coast. It’s like the QSR (fast food) restaurants. People know what they’ll get from San Diego to Bar Harbor, ME.
BUT… one other thing they all have in common: they were are a single unit once in their life struggling for the same dollar as *their* big competitors.
Give me a mom & pop, locally owned and operated restaurant every time.

Sorry, I’ve never even been to Salt Lake..but I’d still like to think I’m a fun guy. 🙂
