When Will Smith released his Willennium album in 1999, I think everyone pretty much wrote it off. “Will 2k” was an inoffensive if awful dance rap pop thing but surely no one took it seriously.
The thing is… Will Smith was right. This really is the Willennium. To wit:
- Newsweek deemed him the most powerful actor on the planet.
- He’s had three $100 million movies in a row, one of only three such actors.
- Barack Obama has stated that Will Smith could play him if a movie on Obama’s life ever comes out.
Truly, folks, this is the Willennium.
