Expired Shampoo

I ran out of shampoo this week and managed to find an old, old bottle of shampoo in the back of our bathroom cabinet. It had expired in 2003.

But since there’s still some left, I’ve been using it. And it seems fine. Does shampoo really expire like food? I’d say no.

Except for that thin layer of sludge on top of my head.

Nah, use it! Unless it contained eggs.

The shampoo is from my pre-vegan days, but no eggs (as far as I remember, at least… though I’d probably be able to smell it).

Sometimes the shampoo will de-emulsify. Conditioner is much worse, turning into a glop at the bottom and a bunch of runny stuff. But go bad? Not really. I’ve used ten year old shampoo.

if you are sure it is safe to use, then use it.

What is this then?
