Here’s a funny: four years ago I said my “breaking point” for gas was $3/gallon. Even in a comment in that Ping last year, I noted that was pretty far off.
This week the price for regular unleaded around my neck of the woods is now $3.19/gallon, although I’ve seen it as cheap as $2.97/gallon.
Sadly I don’t know where that breaking point is nowadays. $6? $10? $20? Sometimes it feels like it doesn’t really matter anymore. I think gas prices would have to shoot up pretty quickly for people to get annoyed.

I find myself noticing the price of gas much less frequently now. It could be because since we got the Prius, we’re filling up literally half as often, usually once every four weeks.
