Jeopardy! Sets in Review

You know, I wrote a Ping five years ago about the then-new Jeopardy! set. I figured, “Hey, this is great,” and moved on.

But I think I’ve been topped handily by none other than Wikipedia. Here for your reading pleasure is a complete review of the evolution of Jeopardy!‘s sets. The amount of detail here is just staggering.

For instance: I learned that one of the recent sets was nicknamed “Sushi Bar.” And, the first pilot featured a ridiculous-looking design with two giant PCs. And Alex Trebek emerged from the floppy drive. NOT KIDDING.

Good stuff, this. I will admit a little tiny part of me is sad that this incredible detail is on Wikipedia and not a random GeoCities page… but you take what you can get.

Somewhere, on a old hard drive in my cabinet, I have the video of the pilot episode of J!, where Alex comes out of the PC. That, along with the chintzy music, is comedy GOLD.

I better go check for that tonight…

What is this then?
