On the whole I’m not opposed to pasta. It’s delicious, a lot of the time. And I like that couscous gets its whole own special category even though it, too, is pasta.
But my least favorite pasta by far? The classic spaghetti.
The big big problem with spaghetti is that it’s too messy for too little of a return. The flavor? It’s pasta flavor. You know it, you love it (or like it). But here it is in these little inconvenient narrow strands that are damned hard to get onto a fork. Especially with sauce.
I don’t like it. Give me something like rotini or macaroni any day. I mean, macaroni’s got built-in sauce holding abilities!

I do enjoy orzo. Especially in Greek soup or in a nice sauce. You can scoop it, little or no chance of dropping it, nor will it swing back around and slap you on the chin.
