Does rain make you happy?

The other morning, I woke up in a foul mood. I was grumpy and just wanted to stay in bed.

And then it started raining.

And I got happier.

I realized that I was actually getting annoying by all the hot, sunny days in a row. Now, I like sunny days just fine, but we’ve had a very, very dry summer this year (I’ve only mowed the lawn a few times this season because it’s just not growing). So, having some rain thrown into the mix along with cool weather really picked up my spirits.

My wife told me I was nuts for having my mood switch from foul to happy because of rain, but I know I can’t be alone here. Doesn’t anyone else like a good, strong rainstorm?

I am right there with you! Growing up in a house that relied on rainwater makes one very appreciative of rain or anything else that allows you to flush the toilets without remorse.

I have my livingroom curtains open for the first time in months, and the AC has not kicked in for almost 2 days. It’s a happy week here in PA.

Oh, yes. People at work think I’m a freak for walking to work while it is drizzling and breezy and raving about how lovely it is outside.. and for moaning and refusing to walk a long distance for lunch when it gets over 80F. Rain is very nice.

My answer is a resounding: NO. After 2-1/2 years in Washington State followed by 5 years in Scotland. I don’t need to see rain. I believe it should rain when I’m sleeping. LOL.

Ciao,

I usually get really tired when it rains.

I left for vacation during the hottest part of the summer here and went snowmobiling on a glacier in Iceland instead. Much cooler than the 100+ degrees here.

I live in Queensland, Australia and we’ve been experiencing a massive drought for the past year, so on the rare occasion when it does rain it’s a cause for celebration.
But then again, even if it rained every day I wouldn’t be complaining – rainy weather makes me horny – surely I’m not the only one!

Rain makes me very happy for no reason at all.

Everyone around me thinks I’m nuts for being all smiles and energy when it’s pouring outside, I can’t really blame them because I don’t know why I’m happy about it either.

What is this then?
