Expensive Books

What’s the most you’ve ever paid for a book?

Would you ever buy a book for $250 (plus shipping!)? I did.

Well, not really. I bought the linked book, but I pre-ordered it for a mere $97 shipped. Seven years ago. It finally ships next week.

It might sound crazy to pre-order a book seven years in advance for almost $100, but it’s a book that’s been a couple-of-decades in the making and is by far the most obsessive, thoroughly researched bit of work on this particular movie director. It clocks in at over 1000 pages. Some books are worth what seems to be an insane price tag, I’d say.

And what took 7 years? The history from 2000-2007?

I *do* have one for sale on Amazon for $300+. It may sell, but I sure as heck wouldn’t pay that much for it.

Ciao,

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
