This morning, Paul sent me an urgent e-mail that said, “How did I forget that Dustin Diamond appeared on The Wonder Years?” I replied back saying that I didn’t know that and, hey, I wonder if it was in the episode that I recorded on a whim last night?
It was. And he was phenomenal as Joey Lapman, a member of The Glee Club. Mr. Belding would have been really proud.
Don’t you agree, Maria?
Apparently, Dustin was in another episode as “Joey Harris.”
So, there you go.

I tried to comment yesterday, but it wouldn’t let me, so here goes again:
Unfortunately, I haven’t seen either episode, as I’ve only seen roughly two episodes of The Wonder Years in my life. I suspect Mr. Belding would indeed have been proud, though.
On a related note, though, I never minded Screech too much, despite the fact that in later years, and particularly in The College Years and The New Class, he was far too stupid for someone who was supposed to be smart but nerdy. However, after having caught some of Dustin’s outbursts on Celebrity Fit Club and seeing what an ass he’s become, he’s kind of ruined the entire Screech character for me. Now, for example, if I see SBTB episodes where I should feel sorry for him when the gang forgets his birthday or Lisa refuses to go to the dance with him, instead of feeling the requisite sympathy, I just think “What an ass…he got what was coming to him!”
