I’m in rental cars often these days. One of the bonuses of renting a modern car is that many of them have auxiliary jacks for one’s iPod, portable music player, or hot dog machine.
There’s just one issue with these, though: there’s no cable. I had to truck it down to RadioShack to pick up one, which set me back a whopping $6.
As I was doing this, it dawned on me: why can’t I rent (or even buy) a cable from my rental car place? They can even charge a medium premium on it – all the way up to $15. Call it an “In-Car Entertainment Connection Kit”. There you go, done.
I should go into marketing, I tell ya.

I just signed up to be an Avis First member and although I have no idea what that really gets me, I did notice that one of the perks is use of an MP3 player cable on any rental.
