Your Favorite Book as a Kid

I want to hear about some of your favorite books that you read as a kid. One of mine is definitely The Diggingest Dog, about a poor pet store dog who doesn’t know how to dig holes because he’s lived his entire life on a concrete floor. Eventually, he learns how and digs holes all around town, including Mrs. Copperthwaite’s garden. His boy is about to return him to the store until he un-digs everything and makes it all better.

I don’t think I could pick just one favorite book, even then! Although I think I used to say that my favorite was Little Women, which I loved. I also couldn’t get enough of the Little House on the Prairie series and the Anne of Green Gables series. That Anne, always getting into mishaps.

When my sister was little, two books that she loved (and I liked reading to her) were Meshka the Kvetch and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. I’ve been thinking about getting both of those sometime soon, just to have for myself.

Oh, and did anyone else have a love/hate thing with The Monster at the End of This Book? That one terrified and delighted me every time.

What is this then?
