Lament for Moses

I miss Moses.

Moses was the man on the daytime cleaning crew at my company that would always smile and greet you with a, “Hello hello! Nice day today!” And if you asked him how he was doing, he’d always respond, “Working working!” No matter what task he had, even cleaning the men’s room, he would always have a smile on his face and would greet you in a friendly fashion.

But the company that owns the building we’re in has changed cleaning companies. It’s sad, because now even though there’s a new morning cleaning man who’s also quite friendly, he’s not Moses.

So, wherever you are old buddy, know that I’m thinking of you while you’re “working working.”

I still miss Moses.

(BTW — I’m honestly surprised Pinger Matt hasn’t replied, “I miss Moses Malone.”)

Hmmm. This Moses character reminds me of the trash guy in my highschool cafeteria. His name is Bobby… he’s always happy as well, and he manages to sing and clap everyday. I can’t say that I share the same fondness for him that you share for Moses. Bobby stands too close and makes me feel awkward. People shouldn’t be that happy.

What is this then?
