The Ping is self-aware.

100 Words, 15 TV Show Reviews, Part Deux

Back in 2002, I wrote a Ping titled “100 Words, 25 TV Show Reviews” (which was, itself, a response to Paul’s 60 Words, 60 Movie Reviews). Since it’s been over five years, I’ve decided to revisit this topic with a current set of 25 15 shows (some of which will overlap the previous version).

American Idol: I hate, but watch.
Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?: Great concept, awful execution.
The Colbert Report: Staying snarky… sweet, Stephen.
The Daily Show: Miles better than CNN.
Family Guy: Good for occasional laughter.
Family Ties: Bring back the reruns.
Futurama: It’s coming back! Sorta!
1 vs. 100: Underrated game show concept.
Saturday Nighty Live: Re-losing its mild bite.
Simpsons: The movie’s coming soon.
Smallville: Stopped watching this season.
Studio 60: I sorta’ miss it.
That’s So Raven: It’s still on?!!! JEEZ.
30 Rock: Meh. Really, it’s overrated.
24: Absurd, yet absurdly fun.
The White Rapper Show: Goofy, but self-aware.

Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader – Apparently not.
Lost – I lost the plot sometime last season.

Don’t count out Studio 60 just yet. It’s still not cancelled, just on hiatus. You never know.

Yikes. I saw about four minutes of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”.. only because I could not believe how stupid the contestants were.

People get paid big bucks for being *dumb*? Why did they not teach me this in school? All this time I tried to learn things, when all I had to do was go “duh!” now and then and guess randomly with a nervous grin on my face?

Err.. meta-comment. Putting things in *asterisks* doesn’t seem to bold it (as the text suggests). And there’s no way to make things into italics.

Feel free to delete this, of course. It’d just be nice if, well…

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
