We all have a comfort shirt, one that we wear on weekends or when we get home from work. A shirt that, if it were food, it would be hash browns or pizza. Today when I was thinking about my own comfort shirt, I realized that all three of mine are blue sweatshirts: one hooded, one plain, and one zippered.
The hooded one I’ve had forever and it’s in rough shape. It’s dates back to my “wear everything large” days of high school and is a size XL. It’s ratty and the strings are long gone. I can’t really wear this one in public, but it’s still a favorite winter shirt.
My plain one is a regular old Champion and is in decent enough shape that I wear it semi-regularly to work, where dress is always casual.
My zippered one, though, is probably my main comfort shirt. I really shouldn’t wear it out, but I do. I got it as a gift a back in high school but for some reason didn’t actually wear it until my junior year of college, when it went into regular rotation.
Clearly, I’ve never been praised for my fashion sense or my ability to update my wardrobe to the current decade. Thankfully, blue sweatshirts will always be acceptible casualwear and comfort clothing.

Mine is a white t-shirt from a computer tradeshow. For some sort of bug tracking software, possibly. The back has a bunch of “count your bugs, count your profits” statements, along with a crossed-out “count dracula”.
Wow, I love that shirt. There is no reason I should feel beholden to a piece of cloth, but I do, moth holes and all.

My comfort clothes all mysteriously vanish from the laundry room. I blame my wife.

Mine is probably my Rob Van Dam t-shirt from ECW circa 1997.
