I’d like to take a moment to send a big thanks to former Chicago Bulls center Bill Wennington. In the Jordan era, Bill was probably my second favorite player: tall, imposing, dominating when need be… but, let’s be honest: his legacy isn’t his basketball. It’s the Beef Wennington.
The Beef Wennington was a sandwich sold at Chicagoland McDonald’s stores. If memory serves – and I’m genuinely surprised this isn’t in Wikipedia – it was a burger with cheese, Canadian bacon, barbecue sauce, and diced onions. And it was delicious… if you’re into meat, of course. And fast food.
The Wikipedia entry on Bill is funny in part because it devotes so much space to the sandwich. Really, Bill also has an awesome goatee. As a bonus, he’s Canadian.
Thanks for the memories, Bill.

Wennington was great, but what about Will Perdue? He should have had some sort of a chicken dish named after him at KFC.
