About a week ago, I had a hankerin’ for some chips and salsa. I recalled a time when I bought Frontera Chips’ marvelous Lime Tortilla Chips and really enjoyed them. So I didn’t think twice about trying Tostitos’ Hint of Lime chips. And, well, they’re weird.
The texture of the chip is totally different. To put a finer point on it, it’s like eating a Sour Cream and Onion Pringle – there’s that coating of… stuff on it that kind of gets in the way but since it’s a Pringle, you don’t mind as much. Now imagine that on a tortilla chip. Yeah. It’s a little weird.
As an added bonus, the Hint of Lime chips have sour cream and buttermilk. It’s noteworthy in that it does not have high fructose corn syrup, though; it has real sugar! Wow!
I’m not sure who came up with the Tostitos Sour Cream and Lime chips, but they’re definitely not as enjoyable as the Frontera Chips. I just want a little hint of lime, not to be smacked in the face by it.

I am officially addicted to Tostitos Hint of Lime….my brother had an unopened bag of them and I was STARVED and broke into them. I rarely eat chips–we’re talking maybe 3 or 4 times a year, so these completely blew my tastebuds away. Salt and lime…what more could I want? I know what I want: another bag.

It would not surprise me if the dea were to put these chips on the schedule I for addictable quality. DO NOT buy these chips if you have no self control. I am not kidding…
