What happens when you combine two of America’s hottest television shows – game shows and in-home shopping? You get the Home Shopping Game, of course!
The HSG was based on the Home Shopping Network and, well, a pretty crappy game show concept. I remember that it had a logo just like Home Shopping Network’s at the time, and Bob Goen hosted. The weird thing about the show is that in-between rounds, it would break out into full-on HSN mode; you could buy the products that – I believe – contestants were competing for (oh boy!) Thankfully, TV.com remembers more than I do.
I’ve got to say, it still sounds like an awful idea.
