So for the past two days, I’ve brought three clementines with me for lunch. (Well, not for lunch but as a part of my lunch.)
The first clementine on both days has been acceptable. A slight citrus flavor, not terribly juicy. The second clementine on both days has also been acceptable with not much flavor nor juice. But the third? The third one has been the most flavorful clementine ever (that day) – juicy, sweet, delicious. The way nature intended, and all that.
A strange coincidence. Third clementine is best. What would happen if, say, I decided to eat the third clementine second? Is it a placebo? Or is every third clementine in my bag from Trader Joe’s a “good” one? Stay tuned friends, stay tuned.

Six years later and this theory still holds. Three clementines as a snack and the third one is the best.
