The usability geek in me just got a little happy.
On my desk at work I have a box of Kleenex. Of course. I pulled a tissue out yesterday, and noticed that the next tissue that popped up was a different color than my tissues; it was yellow instead of white.
Then I figured it out: this was a visual indicator that the box was almost out of tissues! How smart is that? I’ve never seen this in any boxes at home (this is a “Commercial” Kleenex box) – but I wonder why it isn’t more widespread.
