Soap Lifespan

Today marks the momentous Ping #2000! Thanks to all the little people that have made this possible and to Tom Cruise and L. Ron Hubbard for the inspiration.

The question of the day is: how long does a bar of soap last you? I know they come in different sizes, but I’m just talking about the average ~4 oz. bar.

Mine last for about three weeks, give or take a few days, and from what I can tell, that’s pretty normal. My first college roommate, though, was able to make one bar of Irish Spring last almost an entire semester! And it’s not like he wasn’t showering… he showered more than the rest of us. He attributed it to the Irish Spring brand, but I think it may have been some more like intelligent use of a washcloth. Me, I’m not much of a washcloth guy, so I imagine I’d get a better lifespan out of my soap if I was.

Also, a hint my mom taught me: if you take soap out of its wrapper and let it sit in the air for a few days before using it, it increases its life. Whether this is actually true or not, I’m not sure…

Stay clean!

I switched from shower gels to Lever 2000. Shower gels can last me about 2 months max. My experience is similar to your roommate, these bars just won’t go away! It saves a lot of money, even though Axe is more fun.

What is this then?
