In the interest of quality web content, I offer up a mini-review of the new Hershey candy bar, Take 5.
At first blush I was a bit scared of the idea. Pretzels, peanut butter, peanuts, caramel, and chocolate all in one bar sounded like a pretty bizarre idea. But given that I enjoy a chocolate-covered peanut butter-filled pretzel every now and then, I imagine that Hershey was looking for me.
The surprising thing about the bar is that it’s really two bars, like a Mounds or Almond Joy. Beyond that though, Take 5 wasn’t anything groundbreaking. It’s good, and the pretzels play a pretty solid role, but they’re also lost in the other flavors. I didn’t really think, “Wow, pretzels!” when I first tried the bar; I thought, “Wow, that’s a lot of mixed-up flavors!”
I think I’d get the Take 5 again if I really needed a candy bar (ie, to live) and nothing else was around. But I don’t see myself choosing to eat it. Snickers has the “mixture under chocolate” genre locked up. Take 5? No thanks.
